Anyone know of the condition of the Success Trail in NH. Is it overgrown or has logging in the area made it difficult to follow up to the AT. Plan on hiking up to the AT using this trail - next week. Thanks - Beaker.

The Success trail is maintained but it goes through an extensive area of logging from a few years back so the trail isnt very scenic for the first mile or so and you have to take care to stay on the trail. The trail is marked but pay attention until you hit the end of logging, Success Pond road has a lot of ATV traffic these days so be careful. There is a very wet stretch of trail before the AT junction. Make sure you take the short spur to the Outlook on the way up. The turnoff for the trailheads are marked.
If you are not aware, Success Pond road is kind of hard to find from Berlin, It is not signed as Success Pond Road, Look for the OHRV parking sign just across from the large vacant property.
