With the recent threads about washing packs, I noticed a few mentions about using Febreeze to deodorize pack straps, hip belts and such.
In theater, before Febreeze came along, the best method was cheap vodka in a spray bottle. Mist and let dry.
Nowadays, this works even better:
2 cups warm water
1/4 cup fabric softener (use clear and unscented)
1 Tablespoon baking soda
Mix well, put in a sprayer and use just like the expensive store-bought brand.
