I believe it will be in October, traditionally REI (I'm a member as well) has their 20% sales in the spring (this year it was in March and then again in early May) and usually in October-Nov.

I am not sure if this is company wide, but my local REI has their Attic Sale this Saturday only.

I guess when the back room gets full, they advertize to members and roll out the stuff. We have two here in Dallas. One had an attic sale on a weekend, yet the other one didn't.

Noticed this morning that REI-Outlet.com is running a 20% off sale through next Thursday....
