Here goes: about a week earlier I had a severe ankle sprain. I followed all of the RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) rules and took full doses of IB to help reduce/minimize swelling. Within two days or so, the swelling went down enough so that a friend of mine (she is a physical therapist) could do an adhesive tape basket weave wrap that helped to immobolize/reduce the movement of my ankle.
The P.T.'s wrap lasted 4 days (I showered with the ankle covered by old plastic grocery bags). Not willing to miss a short (7 mile) hike, I bought some J&J 1" waterproof adhesive tape and had a trail buddy wrap me up.
The weather was hot and humid and I was sweating pretty good. Within 2 miles of the hike, the adhesive tape started lossening, and fairly quickly was no longer working as an effective wrap.
So my question is this: what make/model of adhesive tape will actually stay on while hiking/backpacking?
