Do the Standing Stone Trail (http://www.hike-sst.org/) between Three Springs and Greenwood Furnace. Do NOT forget to step the few yards off the main trail to the Throne Room, likely the best view in the state.

It's not on the AT, but the PA Grand Canyon (http://www.pacanyon.com/photos/The-PA-Grand-Canyon-view-from-Colton-Point.html) has great views.

You could do a section hike of West Rim Trail combined with Section 17 of Mid State Trail (http://www.hike-mst.org/) and see both sides.

For views in PA there's no question: Port Clinton to Delaware Water Gap is the set of sections you'll want. The big high-points are (south to north) Pulpit Rock, The Pinnacle, Dan's Pulpit, The Cliffs (also called Knife Edge), Bear Rocks, Bake Oven Knob, the entire area around Lehigh Gap, Weathering Knob (above Little Gap), Wolf Rocks, Tott's Gap, and Mt. Minisi (and that's leaving out all the lesser viewpoints.) This list encompasses most of the best views on the AT in PA, especially The Pinnacle and Bake Oven Knob, all within only 76 miles of trail. It also gives you two fine trail towns at either end.

That's my favorite section. I'll be going from Caledonia to I70 next week for a few days.

Trip report (since you're just about to be back)! Especially a first-hand account of the new trail museum/hostel at the Ironmaster's Mansion.:D

I got through it. The museum doesn't open 'til Noon, and I got there around 9 AM or so...but I wrote a blog post on here about that already anyway, which you can probably find by clicking on my name.

Oh yeah, and I ate some ice cream... ;)
