Thought some of you might like to smell like the woods while at your work place...:D. I am making small batches of handcrafted earthy colognes and wanted to share my first website with everyone. I hope that it is ok to mention it here. I will be adding a link to this site when I work on my links page.

BTW: As always, I love all the support, insight, and (positive;) comments) that everyone has passed on to my father and I in years past..
Had my first child and had to slow down my trips..hope to see all of you out there soon.

OMG, seriously, I thought you were talking about bringing hiker funk to the office!! Yours seem to be legit, although, really, some of the descriptions come off a bit like those wines that claim "pear and lotus flower, with a hint of granite".

I will talk with her...lol.
Well, I guess I see her point...the cologne is a bit strong and hippie like...

but think about it...you both can relive your old college days...you know, with the Grateful Dead, tye-dyed shirts, make love not war stuff, and the "munchies"...it will make you feel years younger and your hair may even grow back. ;)

You should make a campfire scent.

You should make a campfire scent.

Actually the one cologne called Batch #5 (http://www.originalbohemian.com/) has a very smokey scent from an essential oil called Birch Tar. My girl told me that it reminded her of a campfire... that is a true story. Here is the description from the webppage:

<SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Papyrus; COLOR: #493f24; FONT-SIZE: 9pt"><FONT face="bookman old style">Original Bohemian Batch #5 is a powerful handcrafted woody cologne made with premium essential oils. Dark and deep with notes of Cedar Wood, Balsam Fir,

You could be on to something here... When I was young I worked in a lumber yard for a few years. Now, every time I go into a Lowes or Home Depot and get a whiff of "that smell" it almost always lifts my spirits - those were some good times.

Interesting topic. I start with cheap vodka or gin. I like to mix in a little evergreen of some sort. Gin already has juniper, and sometimes other stuff as well, usually rather subtle. I like old spice, and the old spice bottle, so sometimes I mix that in half and half for the familiar smell, but I am trying to work from scratch more and more. Vodka is a good starting point if you want to start from scratch. I don't add any musk. As much as I do like the smell of skunk, as long as it is distant and not too close, I figure I can provide a little of that on my own. Adds that personal touch. Local trees, like eastern Cedar, spruce, pine, tamarack are among my favourites, because they are familar to me. I might try something with mountain ash. Once its in the bottle though, I tend to stick with it for a year or two. Maybe its time for me to start experimenting again.

Dulse?
