Was hiking today with a friend who has bought one of these. She swears by the ease of set up and the strength of the tent. I had never heard of an inflatable tent! Pricey and at more than 5 lbs, heavier than I'd want to carry but then it is a 2 person tent.

Anyone else use one of these?

I have the Nemo Meta 2P two person tent but it is not inflatable, It uses trekking poles to set up where the Nemo inflatables use air to fill up tubes in the tent that take the place of tent poles, Novel idea but like you said, The weight is more than I'd want to carry. My Meta 2P is 3.4 pounds but it is made out of PU coated 20D Nylon instead of silnylon so it is a stronger tent and I have plenty of room for every piece of my gear and enough room to hang clothes to dry over night. Nemo makes a good product. IMO

That particular tent is way too heavy for me, but if I ever get around to building a cuben air mattress, I'd like to try an inflatable cuben shelter too. I can't imagine it holding up very well in high winds.

Murphy's Law says this is a bad product.

My first concern would be air leaks. Everything that's inflatable is going to get punctured as some point no matter how hard you try to avoid it. And then there's the deflation when you're done. I can never get every last bit of air out of my mats (BA air core or Neo air), so they are always a little harder to get them down really small again to put back into my pack.

Seems to me that in the time it takes this guy to pump this thing, I could have my Hubba completely set up. Granted, this is a 2 person tent, but at the end of a long day it's enough work to blow up a mat. Having to stand there and pump a tent up.......maybe too much. And if it's developed a leak anywhere - in the air beams, the pump, the pump hoses - you're screwed.

nope, it comes with a patch kit, probably easier to patch than fix a broken pole

it might be possible to adapt the pump to fit you air mat

I think it a pretty cool system

What is the advantage of an inflatable tent? Obviously not the weight savings. I guess you wouldn't have to worry about your tent poles breaking but then you'd have to worry about getting a leak and carrying an air pump.

Fewer hard objects to pack. Imagine combining this with an inflatable pad. You would potentially be able to grab your entire shelter and sleeping system and stuff it in your pack in one step, although as Mrs Baggins pointed out, achieving full deflation could be a hassle. I like being able to break camp faster because it allows me to get on the trail before I awake enough to realize I'd rather be sleeping.
