Just wondering if anyone has been on the AT in the Smokies in the last week or so. I'm curious about the water sources since I will be taking a week to hike starting on Friday.

I was at Sheep's Pen Gap last weekend and the water supply (the trickle?) was as good as any of the other times I've been at this camp site.

a month ago I did the park SOBO and carried no more than 1.5 liters. Ran out of water at Rocky Top, which may have been my fault for not refilling somewhere earlier...
I have no idea but I'll be starting Sunday on a two week bent.

There website states that the spring at Mollies Ridge shelter is dry and any water sources 1.5 miles south of there is also. Birch Springs backcountry site # 113 is good and so is the spring at Russell Fields shelter.
