what are the lightest rain pants out there for rain and wind break??

Thru-hiker momentum90 pants are very light. Even lighter if you go without the ankle zipper.

aren't they DIY.
I've been using the ULA Rainwrap. about 2oz if I remember right, extremely compact. Worked well in the Boundary Waters during a sleety snowstorm.
For as infrequently as I use rain pants, this works fine.

im looking for them for winter hiking. your right as i don't ware that often on those rain/sleet/snow days they are worth it.

Tyvek pants are about 2 ounces. Dirt cheap too.

My Driducks pants alone are 4.6 oz. I had to buy the whole suit to get them, though. Set me back more than $15!
GoLite Reed Pants, pretty happy with these, also use when it gets REALLY cold or cold & windy.
