I like my steripen and use it every trip, but as you know it doesn't do so well in cloudy water. I usually just let it settle but was thinking an inline gravity type filter would be best. What would you recommend? It doesn't need to be big enough for a group (usually just me and my son), and since this is the backup small and light would be nice. Expense is less of a priority.

Thanks

I can use my Frontier Pro (http://aquamira.com/consumer/frontier-pro-filter-system/) as a gravity filter (2 oz/$25) - the bite valve comes off and you can slide a hydration bag tube onto the output end. I use my Platypus CleanStream (http://www.rei.com/product/767563) Gravity filter when backpacking with the scouts. It weighs about (12.7 oz/$99), but I put 8 gallons through it in two days with seven thirsty scouts.

I have no complaints about the Katadyn Hiker Pro. Fills my Camelbak directly (pop off bite valve and plug in so no need to remove it from my pack) and seems to work just fine so far. If I had to replace it I'd consider the First Need XL.
