Has anyone tried the Enertia Trail foods?? How do they differ from Mountain House or other trail foods?

the best part about them is that they are individual servings. the flavor's not bad either.

They are in my opinion much better though a little salty.

We have tried of of them. They are really good. Some of them are a tad bit salty. Rainier Rice is way too salty.

They are dehydrated vs. Mountain House being freeze dried.
They are more like "real" food in their consistency and texture.
Enertia also makes the meals branded with the "Coleman " logo in the green bags.
Chris, the owner, is a real good guy.
The Key Lime Pie is awesome.

the packets usually come with the salt in a separate packet. if they seem too salty you can usually adjust to suit.

The one with the potatoes, corn and pork gravy is the best one they have. Yes Rye is correct the Key Lime Pie is awesome. the blueberry cheesecake is pretty awesome too.

I like the taste of some of Enertia's recipes/varieties but much like Mary Janes Organic Foods the portion sizes and caloric amounts just are not sufficient for my thru-hiking nutritional needs when purchased in the single serving sizes.

I am going ot REI Tuesday to pick up an order. I want to check this out when I go. I may by a couple of packs and do a review on it. I'm curious.

I can see how for thru-hikes, these knid of foods would be expensive as far as caloric needs go, but for 3 day trips, I would like to experiment with these..

I do want to start working with my own recipes and hope to find some ideas..

I think they taste much better than the others. Unfortunately, they come in individual serving sizes, which for a long distance hiker means they are only an hors d'oeuvre.

Good food, definitely. I'm a big fan of the Max Patch Mac and Cheese with a little dehydrated lump crab meat thrown in. Their banana puddin' is awesome! :banana
