I never thought I'd use an umbrella hiking, but a couple people had them on my brooks range trip, and I admit I was jealous.

I would use an umber-ella, but I have yet to find someone willing to follow me around and hold it.

I've considered umbrellas. Has anyone rigged up an efficient way to attach it to your pack so you don't have to carry it?

Met a young thru hiker in the 100 mile wilderness this past week with an umbrella he has carried since Springer. One of his favorite pieces of gear and yes it was raining when I met him and also was jealous.

Honest wire tyes, velcro and duct tape. _ I even thought about connecting it top hat style to one of the hiking poles.
