When I backpack, I generally keep a pair of sneakers on hand for the campsite. What lite sneakers do you guys use, or do you just bring whatever you typically wear on a day to day basis? I generally see people using Crocs but am not a fan at all. Looking for lightweight, affordable options to keep in my pack.

Hikes in Rain

I used to carry them as camp shoes (used the ones I normally wear), but for section hikes, I came to realize it was just added weight I could do without. Now, I just loosely lace my boots (or not at all if it's just a "midnight call of nature".)

Only time I regretted it was when the sole of my right boot came loose early on the third day of a four day hike. Also regretted not taking duct tape! Had lots of adhesive, but that didn't hold up well in the rain. Ended up using it as string to tie the sole on.
