thinking about fishing the rapidan this weekend would i be wasting my time. is there any water in the upper tributaries.

Not sure about the Rapidan , but every water source in the northern district of SNP was pretty scant this past weekend.
The Shenandoah River(north fork) is nearby in Elkton if you want to try fishing there. The water is about waist deep in the middle , normally were it would be over your head.
