Our group was going to park in the lot .9 from Springer (you know the one) and park another vehicle at FS 42-2 at Gooch Gap.

Will we be able to drive from one spot to the other on FS 42-2/FS 42?

Is the road passable for a couple of 4WD Trucks?

The reason I am asking is I saw a red barrier on the most recently downloaded USFS map on FS 42-2 due east of Cooper Gap. I am reading other posts to the contrary.

Would it be too ambitious for us to go from Springer to Woody in one weekend (Sat/Sun)?

Thanks a bunch!

Yes, you can drive from one location to the other with no issues.

Only you know what mileage you are capable of. I'd wager you'd have no issue doing it in two days.

Thanks! We are going to shamelessly park one at Hightower Gap that will have a nice steak dinner inside too!
