:banana Was out on a big hike this fall and one evening ran in to a fellow who
had taken a trangia series 25 stove and adapted a MSR gas stove (simmerlite) into the opening
of the cooking diaphram. According to him there was no serious modifications
to either piece of equipment and that he had purchased the adapter clip
from a sight on the internet. Any ideas of where one could get the adapter pieces required, or the site, thanks

DWM,

Maybe not. I think the wind screen, pot holder, air intake system, etc on the full blown trangia stoves are engineering marvels. If you needed all the efficiency you can get, like in very difficult weather, melting snow, etc, I think you would think more highly of it. And that is why they have adapters to other fuels besides alcohol, because the other fuels have more BTU per ounce.

But I don't backpack in the kind of conditions where the extra weight is worth it and most of us on here don't either.
