I've been hiking in Teva Dozer sandals for the past couple years (that amounts to a whopping 5 trips). Two of my trips have been in the Whites. I absolutely love hiking with sandals. The sole on my Teva's, however, have worn very quickly. Does anyone have any hiking experience with other sandals?

Sandals
The convertibles of footwear.

queue Beach Boys music...

Well she grabbed her daddys pack
And she cruised past the hamburger stand now
Seems she forgot all about the approach trail
Like she told her old man now
And with her sandals blasting
Goes cruising just as fast as she can now

And she'll have fun fun fun
til her daddy takes the tevas away
(fun fun fun til her daddy takes the tevas away)

Well the girls cant stand her
cause she walks looks and hikes like an ace now
(you walk like an ace now you walk like an ace)
She makes the AT 2000 look like a walk in the park now
(you hike like an ace now you hike like an ace)
A lotta guys try to catch her
But she leads them on a wild goose chase now
(you hike like an ace now you hike like an ace)

And shell have fun fun fun
til her daddy takes the tevas away
(fun fun fun til her daddy takes the tevas away)

Well you knew all along
That your dad was gettin wise to you now
(you shouldnt have lied now you shouldnt have lied)
And since he took your set of poles
You've been thinking that your fun is all through now
(you shouldnt have lied now you shouldnt have lied)

But you can come along with me
cause we gotta a lot of things to do now
(you shouldnt have lied now you shouldnt have lied)

And well have fun fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away
(fun fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away)
And well have fun fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away
(fun fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away)
(fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away)
(fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away)
(fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away)
(fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away)
(fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away)
(fun fun now that daddy took the tevas away)

I have experience with the Dozers and Chacos. I felt like I could feel all the rocks under my feet in the Dozers. Also, rocks get stuck inside and are hard to shake out. Chacos are thicker and firmer than Tevas. At the end of a long day the firmness can become a liability. They probably don't have as good traction as the Dozers do when new. Chacos are really long lasting. I found something online where some guy only used two pair for an entire thru-hike.

I saw a guy on the A.T a few years ago who was thru hiking the trail backwards and barefoot from Georgia to Maine. He was only a few miles from Springer, don't know how far he got...
