I saw a picture of an SP 600 whose owner had added on some red handle insulation. I assume it was fiberglass. Anyone wanna share how to do this nifty little trick and what sort of material to use? Cheers!

You could probably use a tool handle dip like this: http://www.amazon.com/Rubberized-Plastic-Coating-Black-Coating/dp/B000VS2HMK

I don't think it is, But even silicone coating like what is used on cookset handles such as the Evernew pots will melt if exposed to direct flame or high heat and fiberglass will most certainly burn. I have an SP 600 so it is an interesting idea, Mine is the double wall so I don't cook in it and the handles stay fairly cool.

Fiberglass will not burn at the temps we're talking about. Many people use it as a stove material.

Go to the Hardware store and pick up some fiberglass stove door gasket.
It comes in different sizes and has a hole in the middle that you can thread onto the handles.

I believe this topic has been covered over on Backpackinglight.com. Just can't remember the various solutions used...sorry. :)
