Also check the articles under the link at the top of the page "Thru Hiking Info" for the AT database and resupply article. The resupply article may be what you are really needing.

There are also useful lists like post offices near the trail in guidebooks like the ALDHA Companion: http://www.aldha.org/comp_pdf.htm

I'm not sure what you mean by a comprehensive list, but you should find something satisfactory linked at the bottom of every post I've made for several years. That would be 1000s of posts.

It may not be clear the full text can be downloaded for free without obligation of any kind. As indicated, contributions are welcome and printed copies are available. The print edition is updated before each hiking season and corrections are available at ATC's website.

There is no better source of this information.

I found this list of maildrops while preparing for my thru hike and used it on my thru hike. It shows towns that are very close to the trail.
