Technically, a Menorah is a 7 branched candelabra - a Hannukiah is the 9 branched candelabra used during Hannukah. One learns such things when one marries a Jew. ;)

I think if the new titanium Jetboil Sol (http://ors.goexposoftware.com/2010/FORMfields/uploads/pressreleasescurprurl1275412011175598303.pdf) is out by the Holidays it would be a good gift for those that like Jetboil products or haven't bought one due to weight. So would that weird looking ultralight sleeping pad that came out recently - the one with just inflatable tubes in the head, hip, shoulder, and knee areas (i can't find a pic or link). Small GPS units, altimeter/compass watches, knives, headlamps, etc. would probably make lots of hikers happy too.

And then there's always the old standby - some new wool socks!

I can't imagine a better gift than a copy of Wizards of the PCT. Who wouldn't love a movie that's been called, "like Lord of the Rings, only with dirtier feet," and "like an episode of Survivorman has been hijacked by the guys from Jackass."

Yep. Wizards of the PCT. Conveniently sized for stuffing into stockings.

Quality stuff I'm too cheap to buy like a real cold weather sleeping bag, down jacket, a 3 season tent, and a sleeping mat.

Forgot my Christmas wish list what with being distracted by the bizarre visions of warraghiyagey's better boob job:

Time.

Time to hike. Time to be able to travel to a location with elevation!! Time to relax. Time to enjoy what I've been blessed with. Time to be able to share my blessings with other people. Time to fix the things that seem to have been on the "To Do" list forever.

Just time.

I realize that is a shameless self-promotion but actually it's a good idea. I was going to say I don't need anything, but a bunch of hiking movies would be awesome.

I guess I would like a huge pile of shoemaking supplies. I'm on a roll learning to make my own shoes. One of these tries I'll have a pair of hiking shoes.

Yeah, that was blatant and shameless self-promotion. Which, you know, doesn't make it any less true! Haha!

Some AT bumper stickers to put on my truck since I wrecked the backend of my last car.

Wicking shirts of some nature.

Maybe new poles since they are starting to bow a bit too much. My $20 Eddie Bauer poles actually outlasted my $80 Mountainsmith's.

New pack. I've lightened up enough of my stuff that my old Kelty external frame is about the heaviest thing I carry!

I gave myself a Christmas gift early..new (to me) skis.

They are older tele skis in excellent condition. The old tele skis are awesome for getting deep into the backcountry. Sharpened the edges and put a new coat of base way and they are now good to go.

I also bought some new ski boots. As my old touring boots were held together with glue, I think it was time. :)

I can't wait until the high country has a deep and consistent base of snow!

I'd tell Jester the same if I could only find him...

Christmas is an evil holiday, but if you're looking for some cheap POS to buy someone (most likely because you feel obligated....) this is pretty inexpensive. http://shop.jetboil.com/index.php/crunchit.html

Personnally I just use a rock or some garden tool, but I know that's barbaric in today's world.

That'll keep'em guessing and they'll be real polite.

LMAO! If someone breaks in, just run at them with a shot gun in one hand and an ice axe in the other!!!
There has to be SOME justifible reason why I would need an ice pick to hike in GA! :D

They make you look really, really cool (that should be more than enough reason). The only problem I see is that maybe 95% of the hikers in GA will think it's a Bobby Flay signature series barbeque tool.

I've asked for a trangier mini and a fire starter from santa.
Hoping to get enough cash from my parents so I can nearly get a hammock.
