Apparently there is a new base layer on the scene. Well not knew by any means, but finally discovered. It is called woolpower. And it is made in Sweden. I had the pleasure to try some of there baselayers, and I have to say it is pretty amazing stuff. I could go into a load of detail, but I would say that it is the best wool garment out there. I found icebreaker too delicate and smartwool too expensive. If you shop around you can get a good deal on them. Though US distribution is limited. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Here are some random reviews.

I love Icebreakers. If somehow these Woolpower duds are better, they must be truly exceptional. Do not find Icebreakers to be too delicate.

I have a set shirt /trousers and I love it.
For hiking it has to be really below freezing or it is to warm. When it comes to all activities where you are not constantly mowing it is great. I use it for hunting and when i am out with the army reserve in winter.

hmmm I have icebreaker, although I don't find it delicate, I don't really like the brand as much as I thought I would. So I'll give this brand a try.

What is this thing on the bottom right? It's either a butt-warmer or a tummy-warmer for expecting moms. After reading the article (always a good idea) it says that it's a midriff belly warmer for pregnant women.
