I visit the NPS webcams often because they have some nice cameras and quite frequently have spectacular shots. I made this one my Desktop image for the next few days. The Smoky's are calling and I can't wait to go!

It's a little of the NE in the SE. I'll have to look through my pics, but here's one around Low Gap. This deer looked like it had a really tough winter.

The plural of Smoky is Smokies. Smoky's implies that someone owns the park and his name is Smoky. I am sorry if this offends you, but I have seen it too many times and I finally have to say something.

It's well known the correct spelling is Smoky's as the park is named for the giant sasquatch named Smoky who roams the park.

No problem, thanks for the clarification. I hope you know, however, that this means war. I'm going to have to read your blog every day scanning for even the smallest grammatical or spelling error. I may enlist thousands of my friends to likewise read your blog, pouring over every word until we find said mistake and rub it in your face, exposing you for the imperfect person you are!

Seriously though, cool blog.

Haha! Thanks. I make grammatical mistakes all the time in my blog. My wife points them out so I usually circle back around to fix them. Happy trails!

According to a couple of references I looked at the correct spelling is Smoky. However, Smokey is a variant that is also listed. Some words it's alright to misspell.

Notice I typed alright vice all right. That's a word that some still argue about the correct spelling. Yet there are many words where all and (fill in the blank) have been contracted to make a word, i.e. almost, also....

There’s alot of confusion out there.

Or is it:-?

I am looking out over a light dusting (.25")of snow here in Grassy Gap, 16 trail miles north of Springer.

Yesterday it was snowing on the trail here for the first time this season. I was out on my daily walk and on my return from Blackwell Creek I ran into a through hiker wearing shorts. He, like me had no idea it would be snowing when we started earlier in the morning.
