View Full Version : Dehydrated or Freeze Dried Conversion Chart?
Does anyone have a link to or know of a chart that would tell you how many ounces of dried or freeze dried food you end up with after preparing so many ounces of the dried food? Something like 1 ounce of dried beef = 3 ounces after preparation?

I say you should just grab a digital scale and take your own measurements to see how much your food weights once dried.
I'm sure dried vs. 'wet' food weights can vary between each cook.

This shows how much fresh food it takes to make one ounce of dehydrated/freeze-dried food -- so not exactly the same thing but it should give you a pretty good idea.
