I'm very, very close to buying this pack. The most I ever carry is 30 lbs. That's near the high end for this pack. How does it hold up?

Try before you buy. I think the Exos 46 is one of the coolest packs ever designed, and I'm super easy to fit in packs, but mine was so uncomfortable at 24# that I sold it to buy a ULA. Osprey should redo the hip belt so that it works, IMO. It didn't wrap around enough, and the super skinny straps were trying to cut me in two. Sold it to a skinny buddy who loves it. Very, very happy with my made in Utah ULA Circuit.

Use the 46 for 10 days in August from Katahdin to Monson. Most that I carried was 28 lbs. I loved it. It carried very well. I'm 5'9 and 165 lbs. It fits me well.

I used the exos 58 for a week long 100 mile railroad bed hike....was only uncomfortable leaving town with 6 liters of water and a few days food...upwards of 35-40 pounds...

I did the Long Trail last year with an Osprey Atmos 50 liter pack - it was perfect (roomy even at times) - I was 30 lbs max with full food load and water - this one looks pretty good - go for it - you might need a wee bit higher volume pack for long winter trips - for winter I use an Osprey 70 - modified, (without pack-brain)
