Hello All You Fellow Hikers! Any of you folks use this Trails.com? Costs 50 bucks a year! Opinions? kevin

i got it on a discount 2 years ago and never renewed. i found i could get info from google earth better and most parks have their own web sites these days. nothing great about long distance hiking. mostly day hikes. they will say you can download TOPO's but you can get them free here. http://store.usgs.gov/b2c_usgs/usgs/maplocator/%28layout=6_1_61_75&uiarea=2&ctype=areaDetails&carea=%24ROOT%29/.do

i don't think its worth 50. IMO

KK nailed it I too paid for the first year and didn't cut it off before the auto renuwal kicked in... Register with Backpacker and Trimble for better information for right now.

From what I have experienced, the maps they have are weak. This site seems more about finding places where trails are than learning anything about the trails.

Weak? their damn short. the bulk of the data was 5 miles.

Not worth it. Maps are pretty bad and the site's software / isn't very user friendly. Better to spend money on hard copy maps / guides of the places you want to hike.

Pretty much trashed it, and deservedly so IMO.
