You can also contact Rick Guhse [email protected] chrome://targetalert/content/skin/mailto.png ([email protected])
Rick is the driving force behind making an official hike between Florida and the AT.

I'll be hiking the Florida Trail starting in mid-January and there is a chance that I'll be continuing northward after I'm done with the FT. Who knows? So maybe we'll meet up.

The Pinhoti makes for a good shakedown hike for folks planning to hike the AT. It is a little lowere and further south, so it makes for a good winter hike. There are only about 3 shelters on the entire trail.

Are you hiking just the Florida Trail and Pinhoti Trails? There are two journals of hiking those on trailjournals.com under JojoSmiley and B of B&B.
Lots of damage on the FT from the hurricanes. Some parts are open now tho. And there are roads for walking around most damaged areas.
Have fun! :)
