View Full Version : What's on your hiker Christmas list??

pfann

I posted one last year and I thought I'd try it again...

What's on your hiker Christmas wish list? Good hikers only, Naughty hikers need not apply...

I'm looking for a down vest jacket and would be real happy with a Marmot Zeus or a Patagonia from someon with extra cash to burn.

I also want an inflateable sleeping pad. I'd be happy with a Big Agnes insulated air core, but would really jump for joy if I got a NEO-Air (regular).

Come on and share your list. You never know who might see what you want this year.

Happy Holiday all!

Since I'm new to this hiking/backpacking thing, my wish list is full of options.
The one I've dropped some obvious hints about though is the Eurika Spitfire Solo.

A camera. Until something wears out in such a way that can't be fixed, I think my setup is good for awhile. The last time I went to the local outfitter, all I could think to even look at was a spoon and some spectra cord.

These are the ones I started using in Linville Wilderness Gorge last weekend, and I liked them.

http://www.rei.com/product/782129

I like the cork handles, and the padded area just below the handles which are good for gripping on an uphill section without adjusting the length. And I know the Leki's are very popular also. (FYI, they come in a pair for $99, although they don't mention it on the website.)

Do you own a pair?

I just noticed this was the "Christmas List" thread. So, my question must seem pretty silly.

If Santa fills your request, you will be very surprised at how aggressive Microspikes really are. If you're looking for light traction devices to walk the dog, you may prefer YakTraxs.
