Good afternoon, white blaze i have again another gear question i was was wondering if there were any brands that make a really simple cook set with just a medium sized pot and skillet with lids that will nestle together. I thought it would be best just to buy a skillet and a pot that would sit inside each other and it was proving difficult. I just don't need one with a thousand different things such as cups and silver ware etc.:sun thanks.

Snow Peak makes a 900 cc and 1.4 liter set where the fry pan is also the lid. They also make a smaller nesting set. MSR also has quite a few offerings, as does GSI. All are pretty similar. Lots of options. The other is to get a Kmart grease pot and a really light cheap 6" fry pan that the pot can sit in nicely for packing. Not a fancy set, but gets the job done.

Most of the time you are just boiling water and the stove should nest inside the pot. I look for a pan and pot with non stick combo. Over the years I have run afoul in the woods with burnt food on aluminum and the stuff is a waste of time when I would rather be hiking. Light and tight (Nested) is the way to go. The lid helps lock in the heat for quick cookin.

Here is a suggestion.

I have an MSR 1.5L pot w/lid and an MSR skillet which the pot will fit into. This is more than most want to carry but if you want to cook "real" food it's great. The pot is titanium @about 80 $ and the skillet is aluminum w/non stick coating. One MSR handle works for both...

I went with the Evernew Non-Stick DX Pot with Frypan lid, It is fairly lightweight and I don't have to carry an extra frypan, I bought the 1900ML but may pickup the 1300ML for my Thru-Hike next year.

I hope the 1900 is for more than yourself! That is huge for one person. The 900 would be more than adequate. Do you need a 2 qt pot?

I really like the snow peak cook sets. The 900 talked about above is fine for one person cooking lipton meals or the like. I have the 1400 for my wife and I's meals and it is huge; a little over kill IMO. Nice that you can slide your fuel right in the 900 also(If you use the ISO fuel canisters)
They also all fit one in the other 700 in the 900 and 900 into the 1400.
The 900 and 1400 can be bought together FYI

No,
The 1900 is just for me, I am not a little guy, I could eat 900ml and go back for more even just sitting at home. I think it may be a little large for my Thru-Hike so I am going to order the 1300ML as soon as I find it on sale. The 900 would definitely be too small for me.:sun

Pretty much all my camping food is of the "boil and pour" trype.
