I'm glad this story had a happy ending.
Someone I sort of knew lost their life last winter in NY's Catskill Mountains due to getting caught in bad weather.

I'm glad it turned out well, It doesn't give her age, but It sounds like she is in phenominal shape. She just needs to hike with more experienced folks in winter for a few trips.

She's a lucky girl! Terrific fighting shape does not translate into long term cold resistance. She needed to eat...constantly.

Yeah, hypothermia will do that to you..abandon gear, takes off clothing..etc.
