Usually there's a big gathering at Springer every year.

NYE on Springer Mtn or Blood Mtn? I thought most people went to Blood Mtn for NYE.
I did an overnighter in my area last New Year's weekend in South MS and what a great way to start out the New Year! I wish it could have been on the AT, but used what I had close to home.

Every year people climb Mt. Washington on New Year's Day. Probably one of the safest days to do a winter climb due to the number heading for the summit. I haven't done it mysef, yet. I don't care much for crowds.
Just a short note, this trip is still a go.
It was a great weekend. Snow us. Repeated some milage yes. But a great time.
