Tarp questions

i have a grand trunk ultra light hammock. i am looking for some ideas on a tarp system or maybe another hammock with a tarp with it??? i have one i made but its really heavy

So many options from Tyvek, sil-nylon, spinnaker cloth, cuben fiber and dozens in between. Depends how much coverage you want, how much weight you want, and how much you want to spend. Pretty much anything sil nylon or spin.

Campmor makes a 5' x 9' poncho tarp, but not sure if its long enough for full coverage with that hammock.

8x10 is versatile.

Campmor sells a 10x12 for $99 that weighs 19 oz and you can go full tent mode with doors with that size.

I love my MacCat Deluxe for the hammock. Did a great job of keeping me dry in some nasty rain the last time I was on the AT. Provided enough coverage for me to sit under it while cooking/eating.

i put my homebrew tarp on the fish scale. it was 1.31 lbs on fish scale. is this way too heavy?? its a 10x10 and its 99.9% waterproof. i am a sectional hiker and dont get to hike much. i would love a HH but just dont have the funds right now

1# 5oz doesnt sound too bad if its a coated tarp.

My sil 8x10 tarp weighs 14 oz.
