What's the best zipper oil for a new sleeping bag. This thing is a beaut and I want it to last a long time.

I've never oiled a zipper myself. Especially if it was a petroleum based oil I doubt you'd want it to get it anywhere close to the material your sleeping bag is made of. Also, oil is going to collect and hold onto dirt. On the few occasions where I thought a zipper needed some lubrication I've taken a candle and rubbed it on the zipper teeth.

I have always rubbed a bar of soap along the zipper teeth of a jacket that didn't zip smoothly. Works well. I don't know how it could hurt the sleeping bag.

10 W 40, or Crisco...

I'm joking by the way, before anyone emails me a bill for a gazillion dollar down bag!

Just called the company, and they said I shouldn't put anything on the zipper. Said that after 5 or 10 years of constant use, the slider may wear out, but the zipper itself rarely ever goes bad.

Good thing I didn't spray any of that WD-40 on it.

Graphite - draw a soft pencil up and down the closed zipper. Non-oily lubricant that will smooth it right out.
