Reading online till my eyes have crossed! TMI or NMI not sure which.

I need some suggestion for a couple of good bags for NOBO this spring

Figure need a cold bag for the start and the finish 10 to 20 degree and a summer bag
40 degree bag for the middle.

I am 5'8" 240lbs stocky, sleep on my side mostly. Planning on using a full length therma- rest.

Brand and model suggestion would like to keep it under $250 per bag.

40% off on your first item from Golite (www.golite.com (http://www.golite.com/)) with coupon code DSW10. I'd get the 3-season quilt.

Big Agnes makes some pretty large sleeping systems.

Big Agnes works for my big guy. You might also try the Montbell spiral that gives

Hey Lefteye - I was even a bit bigger than that when I started in March 2010 but still 5'8''. I used a Western Mountaineering Alder Microfiber bag at 2 lbs. It is semi-rectangular so it has much more room for bigger guys. It isn't a mummy bag and if you're a cold sleeper it may not make you happy. I found it was more than warm enough w/a hat on. In fact, I sweat every night in it. At 2 shelters with a lot of cold wind, I did end up wrapping my down jacket around the feet as an extra buffer.

I got it at a bargain price from the local outfitter in January (I think) 2010. It retails for $340 but I got it for about $225.

For your warmer weather bag, you're going to be a smaller guy and you'll be able to fit into a lot more comfortably. I went with a Montbell SS#5 (I think) that I picked up in Waynesboro. It weighed in at 1 lb.

At 5'9" 275, I found the north face bighorn to be perfect. It is not the lightest or smallest packing but it is warm and fits well.

Picked up a "like new" Mountain Hardware Ultralamina 15 on Ebay at 2 lbs 14 oz. You might want to see what's available

You might like a Slumberjack Latitude for the cold.
