I am planning on a section hike from Newfound Gap to NOC. I plan to start on Sunday, March 20 and hoping to finish Thursday, March 24. I plan to stay one night on the trail (Spence Field Shelter) and the rest of the nights I plan to come off the trail. If anyone is interested let me know.

do you mean hike to spence 22 mi from NFG in one day in march?

I would be willing to split that into 2 days. Maybe stay at Double Springs the first night and then Spence Field the 2nd night.

That time of year you will most likely be hiking in snow and probably more than just an inch or 2 and with the short days of March 22 miles is a lonngg way in a day.

That makes more sense.
You must be talking about slackpacking Fontana to Stecoah, and then to NOC?
