:o Couscous,
Is there a way to adapt this cable as a USB cable? I don't know exactly what to look for.

If it's a serial connection, you can buy the USB-Serial adapter like this one:

No, this is not it. One end has to have a small male connection and the other a usb for connecting to PC. Thanks for the info just the same.

CincyJP was suggesting that it may take both cables - PocketMail to Serial - and Serial to USB - to complete the connection. In theory it could work, but I have been unable to find any reports of people trying this. It's hard to walk away from something that works, but at some point it becomes too expensive to keep obsolete electronics working. I finally gave up my tube radio.

:) I agree. I may just sell my Pocketmail and go with a Peek. Will have to explore this option.

Pocketmail did not make a connector directly to usb, probably part of the reason they are now out out business. I still use my pocket mail as strictly a notepad for my journal. When I get home I back it up to my pc then use Word to import the .dat file into a word file.

The IO adapter would probably work but most time they require additional drivers and or software to make them work correctly. Would be very hard and time consuming if even allowed by those computers that are locked down.

 WalkingStick,
What did you use to "back it up to my pc", what connector from the Pocketmail to the PC? Would the cable pictured in an earlier post work?
