Morning Ron
6-8 inches in Chattanooga. I'll put your over/under at 12. Looks like water will be easy to find this year though!!!! Always a silver lining huh?

Atlanta was due a good snow storm. It looks like 6" or so on the ground. It is time to get dressed up like the little kid in "The Christmas Story", beat all the little crumbsnatchers outside, and go stick my tongue to a power pole.

Have friends in Augusta GA who like to remind us how much nicer their climate is in the winter than here in Maryland. It's been very quiet on their end for the past couple of days........ :)

We've got about 2" on the ground in Charlotte. Just enough to be pretty, and to have everything cancelled that can be cancelled.

I'm more concerned about the ice storm forecasted to move in tonight...

I picked lettuce, green peppers and banana peppers this weekend.

Watching the weather radar from Atlanta north, I'm hoping and praying the NOBOs who have started are either well-equipped or hunkered down or both!

Snowing in Erwin and NOAA says total accumulations of 6"-10" by tomorrow.

Our kids are going to have to go to school all summer - seems like they've been out since Thanksgiving.

I recently put some compost around one of my orange trees and now I got some kind of lettuce-looking plant growing from it. Can't wait to see what it is:sun

10" here at my home in Asheville. My house is at 3888' above sea level and we will mostly likely get another 4 to 6 inches. Taking the kids out sledding in a bit.

Wasn't it in the 60s on New Years Day around Springer? I wonder how many of them were thinking they were getting an easy winter.

Anyone who starts a thru in Jan shouldn't be surprised when it snows.

those who start in january are probably more prepared (physically and mentally) for bad weather than some of the March and April starters. as has been discussed here frequently, many people falsely assume April = spring & warm weather in the southern mountains.

Cold rain and spots of ice in Jackson, MS.

We dodged the bullet.

Got about 2" to 3" overnight here in Nashville and more predicted tomorrow. The schools are all closed.

Here are pics of my mailbox this morning. You may notice it has a white blaze on the post. :) Also, my little pickup truck, with two AT stickers and a Baxter State Park sticker. :) Also a shot of our backyard and my youngest daughter in her bare feet in the snow, something she's done since childhood. Crazy girl.

We've got heavy snow here near Fayetteville, in NC. Snowing heavy enough to close down the post for today and tomorrow. I'm hoping that it doesn't snow hard enough to shut down the massage parlor and hair salon because I've got a girls day scheduled for tomorrow :)

I just got home from walking about a three mile round trip to a gas station to get some coke and popcorn. That is some crunchy/crusty snow. The streets are one big iced up mess. And there were STILL jackholes out there trying to drive!!!!!

I think this is hilarious milwaukee's supposed to be a fairly snowy place. We can get lake effect snows here which will drop a foot or more. For the winter we will get 50 to 80 inches on average, but this year we have had about 9 or 10 inches total. We have missed out on just about every major storm this year. but just think the cold weather is good for knocking down the bug populations. we always have a few less bugs come spring when we get a good cold snap during the winter.
