My bad. I was looking at the link with the Communicator and DeLorme PN-60 package.
While it means carrying two devices it might be nice if you can send "I'm doing well, decided to stop at Whitley Gap Shelter instead of going on." instead of "OK." I wonder what effect running the BT has on your cell phone battery life when you're trying to conserve.
