Weather permitting I'm planning on hiking the BMT through GSMNP in a few weeks.

My son is going with me and it dawned on me yesterday that I only have one cold weather down bag. Since I don't need 2 I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I ordered him a 0* down bag from Campmor - $159 with free shipping.

Does anyone have one of these? I was pretty shocked that the Campmor bag weighs a few ozs less than a 0* Mont Bell bag at 1/3 the price - could the quality difference be that much?

I don't have one but from what I here that are excellent bags for the money and rated fairly accurately.

I have one and like it. Good value and I don't mind the extra weight.

I own the 20 degree bag (yes, you are asking about the 0 degree bag), but I would say that Campmor makes a very good (for the money) bag and I've used the 20 degree bag for many years now in three season temps and found the bag well made and warm for that rating.
