Looking for suggestions on what others have found to be a nice. light windshirt. Need something for temps which make wearing my middle layer and outer shell too warm but keep me from getting chilled.
Thank you.

So is this going to be a base layer?

No a mid-layer---looking for something cooler than my existing mid layer or outer shell.

The Patagonia Houdini is a great windshirt. Everybody that I know that has one loves it. It also weighs around 4oz so it is very light

EMS makes a lightweight micro fleece lined wind jacket, that takes me from 40' to 60', packs light and small, and is always in my pack for trips other than HOT.For the life of me I dont remember what its called, but i'll try to find out for you.

I 2nd the Patagonia. I keep it in an outside pocket and put it on when I stop for winter hiking. I absolutely love this jacket! Especially since someone gave it to me. :D

Montbell ultra light wind jacket. A med weighs 2.6 oz. They run small, so size up. I got an xl and its tight but perfect for what I wanted.

I had a Wisp and liked it except for the lack of hood.
I sold it and got a Marmot Ion with hood. Like it better. More breathable but less drizzle resistant - not an issue for me because I carry separate rain gear except in the dead of summer at low altitudes.
