A mom wrote to me and asked me to put this information up. She said her son, Abisha Mounce, has been missing since 10/21/2010. The son may have been hiking the CDT or the Great Western Loop. There is a website set up at http://www.searchforabisha.org/ (http://www.searchforabisha.org/)

Sadly, this looks like yet another case where the hiker did not leave a detailed hiking plan and calendar with folks at home. My wife would never let me out the door without one in her hot little hand.

How can we hope to be rescued if no one knows where we are or even when to call out the cavalry? :-?

Sad, hope they find him. Hope he left better notes then "be home in a few weeks.".

Keep us updated.

Looks like he just told his wife he was going to the woods and would be back in a couple of weeks. Not much to go on. Hope all is ok with him...Then again maybe he intended to get missing.

That dude looks like he could take care of himself.

His family may never know what happened.

Can't imagine this hiker's family is as happy-go-lucky as the rest of you. It would be unheard of for me to go 3 months without contacting my family, as I would assume it is for quite a number of people. This family is concerned enough that they have reached out to others to try and locate their hiker. I hope they have an answer soon and that is a positive one.
