I was just doing a list of hiker events and was wondering if anyone has attended more than 2 or 3 in a year?

Examples of events:

PA Ruck
Rockies Ruck
ADZPCTKO
Trail Days
Trailfest
ALDHA Gathering
ALDHA-West Gathering
Long Trail Festival
New Years on Springer
ShenRuck
RPH Gathering Work Week

You are correct Geek, the Warmer is the last weekend in Feb. Those interested see postings under 'Get Togethers' including the 'warmer' under the Forums heading on this site.

When I am with my friends, we often get a beer after a hike/ski/backpack/climb

Does that count? :D
OFten three-four of us are Triple Crowners (big 'effen deal..:) )...so does that count as a hiker gathering?
Does that count only when we are hiking?
If we are on skis, does it not count?
What if one friend has never thru-hiked, but has probably spent more time outside than most people on hiking forums? ;)
Finally does it count if it is not an 'official' hiker gathering? (A wedding in CB this past summer had 20+ thru-hikers. And beer. Lots of beer)

Doesn't beer make a gathering official?

I believe we have the answer! I attend 40+ outdoor peep gatherings a year.

There's also the Franklin April Fools bash.

Isn't there also something in Maine in September?

In AA 2 people make a meeting ergo 2 hikers make a gathering. Just saying.

Don't forget Ron Haven's Chistmas Party in Franklin.

I've been to SoRuck, April Fool hiker Bash, Trail Days and Ron's Christmas Party and never failed to have a great time! :banana

Last year I attended the SoRuck in Jan, TN hiker reunion in Feb, April Fool Bash, Traildays, Gathering in Oct, and the Christmas Bash in Dec. That would be six hiker get-togethers, as well as hiking from GA to ME... Fun year!

hiker event:
spend $ on gas you cant spare.
buy booze enough for 10 of you.
drive all night on trucker speed.
eat road food on journey.
arrive sick, broke and wooped.
drink and eat till sick.
talk trash with trash all night till dawn.
crash and burn saturday untill midnite.
wake and resume abusing your body till sunday morn.
drive all day to get home.
crash and burn and miss work monday.
still half dead, work tuesday.
full recovery next saturday morning.
wake up broke and having had a rough week.
swear to yourself your done with hiker gatherings.
repeat till weened.

I went to Amicalola in March, Franklin in April and Trail days(all last year). Seeing the people and magic led my wife to say "Don't wait, go now" Long story short, NOBO 3-20.
