What the Dr. says...
Food is a very personal item, so people will make different choices. The important thing is that you get enough calories and the right nutritional mix. One of the best articles I've seen on food for hikers was done by Dr. Brenda L. Braaten, PH.D., R.D. She used to have it on her own web-site, but that is no longer up. Fortunately, you can still find this information on the Thru-hiker site.

This is a great series of articles written by a dietician regarding nutrition for long distance hikers.
