I have an Eddie Bauer down parka jacket and I got a hole in the liner (the interior of the jacket) which I didn't notice at first but it leaked some down.

Tried to do some research and the best I came up with was to get a repair kit. I got a Coleman tent repair kit and a bottle of airstop vinyl repair. Does this sound like it would work? Currently the hole is plugged with duct tape. Any advice?

Also wondering if I should try to get some more down for it before doing anything. Again I looked at old posts which had some links but some of them are now bad links or sold out. Should I get more down? What kind? How much? Any suggestions? Do I have to order it online or are there places that sell it? I don't think the coat leaked a lot but it's hard to say and it does seem a little less warm than before.

Thanks in advance.

Another vote for McNeil's Tenacious tape if you're just looking for a functional and not cosmetic repair.

I've got it on a down bag, my Mont Bell thermawrap, a piece of raingear and lord knows what else and it works 100% of the time.

The hole is maybe quarter to half dollar size. Is that too big for this tape?

I wouldn't think so - definitely not on the quarter sized hole - getting up to half dollar size it might take 2 strips.

Another factor is where the hole is. The repair will be more effective if it's in a place that doesn't see a lot of stress.

For instance, a hole in the back would be easier to tape than a hole in the armpit.

Pull the edges together and sew it with dental floss.

I just dropped my down jacket off at the tailors to fix a hole from an ember. 10 dollars for a color matching patch, worth it to me. I wouldn't bother trying to add more down.
