View Full Version : Shelter/Tentsite ?
In planning for my thru hike starting in March I have repeatedly found myself at shelters that don't have a designated tent site such as Hawk Mountain and Whitley Gap shelters to name a few. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but is it against some regulation or something for me to use a tent at shelters such as the ones mentioned above? :confused:
No. Theres always somewhere to camp even if its not designated.

right, the only thing i would suggest is not to tent to close to the water source path or privy path, just for privacy reasons.

Thanks for the tip Kayak Karl. I'm doing my best to not always end up at shelters but sometimes it just works out that way. I will definitely stay away from the privy path :eek:
