Going in that direction the climb up Snowbird Mt. just after the I-40 underpass is the main attraction when it comes to climbs.

not bad overall, in addition to Snowbird mtn, you cross Max Patch Bald and Bluff Mountain, overall a nice, scenic section

Great section, seemed long steady uphill to Snowbird but many great views. I walked from Davenport Gap shelter to Hot Springs in14 hours, long ways down towards Hot Springs.

Going in that direction the climb up Snowbird Mt. just after the I-40 underpass is the main attraction when it comes to climbs.

For me, the stiff climb from the road was followed by a long, steady, but seemingly moderate, uphill climb through the green grass and wildflowers of a southern appalachian hardwood forest.

I found the climb of Bluff Mtn to be much more severe, but just as beautiful.
