I am trying to learn about some thru hikers and total pack weights. Rather than this being a debate on base weights, items carried or a discussion on who carries more or less, I have specific questions about which I am curious. :-?

For those who have thru hiked (or attempted):
1) What was your total pack weight coming out of town (resupply)?
2) What was your average mileage on hiking days?
3) How frequently were you resupplying?

Thanks folks! :)

For a typical (for me) three day resupply, pack weight was about 16 pounds (no water). Average pace was just over 20 mpd.

Usually topped off was around 30 lbs
Normally did 22 miles a day, 24 was the magic number, anything after that sucked.
usually resupplied every 5-6 days.

Thanks for the numbers. Keep 'em coming. It is interesting to me to see how different thru hikers are in their gear, loads, speeds, and resupply.

I guess I am a little surprised to see few posting with very light loaded weights. I thought with all the talk of "ultralight" I would have seen lower weights, but maybe with food and water, and longer hauls between stops, it balances out.
