I thought I read somewhere that there is long term parking (for a fee) available at Amicalola Falls State Park. I was just wondering if any of you past thru hikers used it and what your experience was? Any 2011 thru hikers plan on using it? Maybe I'm incorrect in even saying that there is. I'm sorry if that's the case.

Thanks

It cost $5 Sickmont. I just got off of the phone with them. That is probably what I'm going to do. It will be a nice relaxing drive to the park this February :)

I think I paid about $3 - $5 for a week in the long term parking by the Welcome Center. I had to register and put an AT Hiker pass on the windshield - still have that as a souvenir somewhere! http://gastateparks.org/Amicalola

I paid $3 - $5 for a week of parking at Vogel State Park just up the road from Neel(s) Gap as well. http://gastateparks.org/vogel

May have changed: Amicalola was 4 years ago and Vogel was 2 years ago. Good luck.
