I never needed to use kerosene on the trail. What are you going to use it for?

Well, it's going to be a bit difficult to find me out there this year, what with starting a new job and all. Your best chance to run into me is probably mid-May down around NOC. :D

Use diesel instead.

JP-4 or JP-8 works well too. Or rather, *too* well.

I usually can find petrol jelly and cotton balls as a starter for my zip. I have, a couple of times, resorted to using some of my antibiotic ointment instead, and only then due to damp fire material and the fact I let my petrol jelly run out.

just about any wal-mart or hardware store sells it in the garden section for those lamps that you have outside your patio or pool. kerosene comes from coal and burns about the same as diesel which comes from oil

Both diesel and kerosene come from oil.

Grandpa used to call kerosene coal oil. "Light that coal oil lamp."
