I'm coming down for the party, and plan on taking a week to hike north into Damascus from Carver's Gap. I am finalizing transport from Maine down there and will probably fly into TRI airport near Johnson City. Does anyone know of a hiker friendly motel close to the airport? I don't want to rent a car. Also is anyone shuttling from Johnson City area that I could connect with to get a ride to Carver's Gap? I am looking forward to meeting some of this year's thru hikers on their quest. I'll be tenting to leave shelter space for this year's hopefuls. Can't wait!
