Has anyone carried and used a Peterson Field Guide to Birds on the AT, CDT or PCT? If so please describe your most interesting identification of a bird. :-?

Well, there was that Boreal Chicadee up at Gentian Pond Shelter.

And don't get me started on the Black-Backed Woodpecker near Ethan Pond...

peterson's is old and the maps are out of date. thue he was a ball to go birding with. I now carry All the Birds of North America.

This is good book to have "when you don't have a bird book".

I am not sure what it weighs, but it measures jus 4.5" x 7.5" x 5/16" so it is just a fraction of the size of the usual choices.
